Focus on Resources Docs: Volunteering and the legacy of colonialism

In this June edition of our "Focus on Ressources Docs", we recommend a Master’s dissertation from Thomas Roberts, which focuses on international volunteers on placement in Ghana.

The dissertation tackles a question that is frequently asked: are volunteers from the North reproducing colonialist schemes in the South? Through a series of interviews with returning volunteers, it concentrates on their views, their perception of their work, their role and their relationships with the community that hosted them, from a post-colonial perspective.
